I still haven’t found out what Shasta likes to do for play. Once in a blu moon she likes to catch a specific squeaky toy, but only if you throw it high up *just* over her head. But she does love to eat and sleep. 😉
Keyword: “Shape”
Super simple one today. I knew people have different shaped faces, but didn’t realize how much of a difference it made in cartooning until we practiced drawing them. I had never thought of drawing a triangle face in my life, but had such fun with it! 🙂
Keyword: “Wheel”
Tee hee! Our son’s first word. He had so many little cars and especially loved his Micro-machines. Maybe it helped him prepare for identifying a good Über ride from a bad one? 😉
Keyword: “Vast”
I am intrigued by dreams. The momentary skip from dimension to dimension, flipping in the blink of an eye between personalities, characteristics and abilities. And the bizarre, never-seen-before situations! These are a few of the more “normal” samples. Hope you can see this “vast” panoramic drawing! 🙂
Keyword: “Proud”
Being German, I struggle with Veteran’s Day, not because I don’t think they’re deserving, but because so many Americans resent the German soldiers who fought against the US in WWII. I remember my Opa telling us they had absolutely no idea what Hitler was doing until it was too late. So many sacrifices in support of political goals.
Opa lost all his brothers, his parents, and in-laws in WWII, and spent years as a POW in Russia. I’m thankful he survived to pass on his wisdom and teach me to be cautious and prepared. Lesson? Don’t believe the politicians’ promises blindly. Use your head; think it through and research. Look at character. And don’t just follow the crowd!!!
I look forward to the day there will truly be “war no more” and no man or woman need choose between two evil options.
Thank you to those who serve in the interim, all too often giving their all for others. And thank you, Opa, for your sacrifices, too!
(Ps: he also taught me to be punctual…. That lesson’s taking longer to sink in…)
Keyword: “Talent”
I’ve really admire the skills and natural talent of one of the cooks at the Bienvenu Cafe and how he makes his over-easy eggs. I feel like I’m watching the Michelangelo of the cuisine world! And I’m not just saying that because I’m horrible at it. Those eggs are divine!
He seems to really enjoy it, too. I hope he knows how much his talents and smiles are appreciated! 🙂
Keyword: “Upgrade”
… as in they installed the next version of MS Office on my computer at work today. It’s not that I’m a creature of habit so much as I have so much to do that over the last 20 years I’ve developed *many* shortcuts to save time. So it’s kinda like telling a professional chef who was working just fine and efficiently that they won a kitchen upgrade, and it will be installed whether they want it or not. It will come with all the latest and greatest appliances! But, oh yeah…., now they will have to go outside to pump their own water…. Grrr….
Keyword: “Wrestle”
I couldn’t help it – this one’s been burning in my head since I was thinking about the wrong word on the 30th. So InkTober 2016 bonus pic! Lol
InkTober 2016 – Day 31: “Friend”
Alas, the last day of InkTober 2016. I do feel as though I am preparing to depart from a long lost friend.
Maybe it will be good encouragement to get back to it for real – the bigger drawings! Thanks for riding along and hope you enjoyed it!
InkTober 2016 – Day 30: “Wreck”
I must explain to anyone supporting the major candidates – this is not a statement about either. It’s just a statement on our process which seems to generate hostility in advance. No wonder no one seems to want to work together and find successful compromises after the scars from the campaign trail! 🙁
Ps: I gotta work on the leaning of my writing and quick sketches. Didn’t mean to make The Donald float higher than Hillary! Lol
